Army Black Knights’ Winter S&C Testing Results (Free)

Athletic directors and head coaches such as Army’s Jeff Monken have realized that strength coaches at the college level can have as much, and is some cases more impact than any other coaches on staff. They are with the players more, often knowing the players better and communicate with them on a more personal level.

Just last week, we took a look inside Army’s S&C program in our two part Q&A series (Part I & Part II ) with Army Head Strength Coach, Tim Caron.

Now, we look as some of the Top numbers that have come out of the hard work and perseverance from the S&C staff and the players, as the team moves closer to April 1st’s Spring football practice kick-off.

So, let’s pick-up where we left off in our previous chat with Caron and find out which players have top the list relative to S&C testing results.

“The next level of this is the idea that I guy like Xavier Moss has gained 15-pounds since January,” explained Caron in his conversation with GoBlackKnights.com. “So, Moss ran his fastest 20 and pro-agility and he also vertical jumped 37”, along with broad jumping 10’5” while improving his body mass 15-pounds.”

Moss, who has gone from 190 to 205 has really impressed Caron. “His 20 was the fastest that I have ever seen personally,” shared the head S&C coach. “So, in terms of him running a 25.3 in the 20 yard dash with a body weight of 205, it indicates how strong and how hard he worked in the weight room. Honestly, with Xavier, he committed to getting strong and he’s putting up great weights in the weight room and honestly, it showed when he ran. He ran with a lot more motor and pushed through the ground a lot better ... he was just better in all facets.”
